Not sure if you need a New Foundation? Use the following tips as a guideline. Whether you need a new supporting foundation depends on whether your present box spring, or other type foundation you now have - is suitable. 1. If your box spring is in fair to good condition (flat and firm) - it will support your new Cloud 9 Air Mattress Bed or any other type of mattress you purchase just as well as a new foundation. But if you want your present foundation to match your new air mattress - order the matching Foundation Cover. 2. Even if your present box spring is in poor condition (not so firm or otherwise in worn condition), placement of a 1/4" sheet of plywood, hardboard or similar material between the air mattress or other mattress of your choice, and the box spring will provide the required flat, firm support. 3. If your present foundation doesn't pass the above criteria - or you want a new foundation, anyway - order the one to match the mattress selected.
