The 24 gauge rubber uses a vulcanization process that virtually eliminates all seams. The material actually flows together and becomes a one piece construction. NEW!

The natural cotton backing material is adhered chemically to the latex. This creates a soft, smooth texture and at the same time eliminates air leakage through the pores of the rubber. NEW!

The chamber borders are double seamed with two 1.25 inch seams, one reinforcing the other. Double sealing creates a more reliable support system for years of proven longevity and trouble free use. NEW!

Inside the air chambers you will find our incredibly strong I-Beam construction. Other companies talk about I-beam construction, but they don't use the same system we do, usually using a single sided sealing system (try saying that 10 times fast). Our I-Beams are made up of two layers of canvas and two layers of rubber bonded together to join the top and the bottom of the air chamber. Where the I-Beam meets the top and bottom of the chamber, the canvas/rubber layers flair out each way, offering twice the holding power of a single sided system for extra strength and years of durable use. The sophisticated baffling system of our chambers creates little square pillows of air that keep the spine aligned for maximum comfort and support without the hammocking that can occur with some other air chambers you may find out there. Our square pillow system evenly supports the entire body, no matter whether you sleep on the edge of the bed or with a soft or firm inflation level. NEW!

Because this design eliminates the need for a foam wedge between dual air chambers, sleepers can sleep in the middle of the mattress without feeling anything but the ultra comfortable mattress they purchased, and without the sensation of rolling toward the middle of the bed, regardless of the selected inflation level. The pillow tops range from 2 inch to 4 inch (removeable for fluffing and choice of padding) is accessible through a zippered compartment. Within the compartment is your choice of either a 3 inch, reinforced 5lb. Visco Elastic Memory Foam pad or a 3 inch reinforced 24 ILD Natural Latex Pad.

Differences and Similarities Between Models:

Air chambers:

All the SP Airbeds use the same high-quality air chambers, hoses, and connections.

Foam rails:

All the SP Airbeds use the same foam rail support system.

Inflators and controls:

The SP7000 and SP9000VX use the same pneumatic pump and control system complete with 50 comfort settings, two 4-function ergonomic controls with digital LED readouts, one touch memory mode, and automatic bed fill. The SP5000 uses basically the same inflator system except that it comes with one control instead of two, and does not offer the automatic bed fill function.

The SP5000 - has a 10" profile that includes a 2 inch (removable for fluffing) European Box Pillow Top that is tack and jump quilted to a premium Belgian Damask ticking.

The SP9000VX - boasts a 14 inch profile and European Box Pillow Top. Premium Damask is tack and jump quilted to 2 inches of Quiltflex and 18 ounces of a premium wool blend.
